One great thing about wintering in Florida is being able to drive to a cruise port and save the expense of flying. We left from Ft. Lauderdale on the Holland America Zuiderdam for an 11 day adventure to the Panama Canal. We met up with friends from home and set sail on the evening of December 10th. The next day our first stop was Little San Salvador Island, also known as Half Moon Cay. It is one of about 700 islands that make up the archipelago of The Bahamas. John and I enjoyed the white sand and warm turquoise water with the ship in the background. We saw a few fish while snorkeling and enjoyed a beach barbecue provided by the ship.
That night we enjoyed our first meal in the Vista Dining Room. We enjoyed great food and our servers were very personable and fun.
