I have been looking forward to this weekend for some time since Linda and Ken Luckraft were due to arrive here in Sanlan! We met these kindred spirits 2 years ago in Alabama at Eufala and spent a couple of days kayaking and playing golf with them there. We have kept in touch online ever since. Linda's blog of their travels and adventures is fabulous. We will use it as a reference for our own travels. Linda and Ken are from Cape Cod but have been full time RV-ing for 3 years. Brave souls!
They arrived here on Friday in pouring rain and we spent 2 days catching up and taking in the sights around Sanlan and Lakeland. Barney enjoyed the trails too. As usual the gators didn't disappoint us. The "big guy" was sunning by the front pond. Also there is a mother gator with babies in a hole on the trails here at Sanlan and we went to see her on a friends golf cart. She was half on the path and scared the day lights out of us when she wheeled around and looked like she might want to attack. We hightailed it to the golf cart and got out of there as fast as we could! From there we went to Circle B Nature Preserve to see more gators, then to Lake Hollingsworth and Harry's. Next; dinner at the Olive Garden and home for a fire (fire pot with gel flame) in the tent before calling it a day. And it was my birthday! So nice to spend it with Linda and Ken. It was sad to see them go but I know we will catch up again.
