Storing the Cedar Creek

After leaving Voyager RV Resort at Tucson we spent a week back at De Anza Trails RV Park getting ready to store the RV.  This is south of Tucson and near Tubac, at Amado. We had spent 5 weeks here in November/December and decided it would be a great place to leave the RV for 8 months.  What!!  I still can’t believe we have done this.
We are taking the long road home arriving in Calgary Alberta by March 31st, our deadline to enter Canada.  Travelling at this time of year, especially THIS YEAR, in March can be dicey, so we decided to take a detour and have a travel adventure.
Bob and Amy own and live at De Anza RV Park and there are people there year round.  It is fenced all around and a security gate is closed at night.  This is a small park with a spectacular view of Elephant Rock and the Santa Rita Mountains.  It is expanding and they have opened new sites since we were last here.  Anyway, we feel comfortable storing the Cedar Creek here until we come back to get it next November.  Waaaahhh!  I did have a bit of an emotional moment before we left.
Trying to clean and organize for this was quite a feat.  We packed most of our clothes and whatever we want to take home in tubs and boxes and I cleaned the cupboards etc. while also trying to live in the mess.  Order out of chaos? John organized the hold and the outside stuff and fitted aluminum reflecting window shields. We did have to make some tough decisions and leave some things behind.  The truck is jammed.
A couple of nights before leaving I saw two shooting stars.  We also saw an amazing sunset.  It was 360!  The day had been windy and there were wispy clouds all around.  This combined with the reflections off the mountains was spectacular.  What a send off the Santa Rita’s gave us!
