Baldwin

Baldwin

From Cathedral Rock we went to do the Baldwin Hike, recommended by a fellow at the Sedona Visitor Information Centre. If you come here be sure to stop in there. They are very helpful and friendly. We drove south out of Sedona and through Oak Creek Village to the trail head. We had lunch before setting off on a circle loop and it turned out to be a wonderful 2 hour hike. It was vigorous and although there were changes in elevation it wasn’t too drastic. This took us around the back side of Cathedral Rock so it was interesting to see it from the other side. We saw lots of interesting vegetation around here and the prickly pears were everywhere.

In the parking lot we met a couple from California (lots of Californians visiting here) and they had locked their keys in their rental car by mistake. He was looking for a hammer. The best we could do was a tire iron. I was amazed at how easily a tire iron broke the window...one chop. Now I get smash and grab! Invigorating! Okay, that sounds terrible, the hike was invigorating, not the window smash.
