Blue Mesa Tee-pees

These pictures were meant to be in the last blog post. We went through this section while driving through the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest. We were able to walk to the bottom here and the colours were amazing. My understanding is that the mesa is the top and it used to be all level but over time (millions and millions of years! ) due to various factors these shapes are formed and normally hidden layers of the earth are revealed. Erosion, either wind or water has made many interesting formations here over time. But there are other factors as well. These so called Badlands can be found in many places around the world.

Wow!! Love reading your amazing adventures. You've done more in your short time there than we've done in 3 years!!!! Wasn't the drive down into Sedona a magical experience? Once you've seen the Grand Canyon and the Painted Desert, you can't help but be a convert to the West.

The slide show portion of your journal is fabulous but I'm having trouble opening some of the other pictures.

Glad to see Wally is enjoying the sites.
